Yunnan Dian Hong, also known as Yunnan black tea, is sometimes used to blend tea. Dian Hong golden buds is one ofmost famous Chinese black tea that organically grown in Yunnan Province, China. There are lots of orange pekoe in the dried tea of Dian Hong, and it can be brewed into an absolutely great tasting, golden coloured tea, with very rich taste and aroma. The amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," present in the dried tea is it's speciality. Cheaper varieties of Dianhong produce a darker brownish brew that can be very bitter.
Yunnan Dian Hong golden buds is hand picked and made from buds of Yunan larger tea trees, rather than 2-3 tea leaves. After picking it is meticulously processed by hand using the traditional “Gongfu” processing techniques, and then fully oxidised (fermented). When viewed from a distance, the dried tea appears bright orange in colour. The tea liquor is bright red in colour and exhibits a gentle aroma and a sweet taste. The leaves are reddish brown after being brewed.
